Structure Fire Asst. BVFD - Edmund L. Thomas Center

11/24/08- Kearsarge was dispatched around 20:20 hours this evening for a FAST Team to assist Belle Valley on a structure fire. Engine 443 responded with a crew of 6. Kuhl Hose Chief 680 (Erbin Jr.) arrived first on scene reporting a 1 story juvenile detention center with nothing visible from the exterior. The caller stated there was a strong smell and haze of smoke in the structure. All occupants were safely evacuated from the structure while crews investigated. Engine 443 was utilized as an engine company per the request of command, Chief 360 (Semple). Engine 443 assisted with the investigation and provided light for the scene. The cause turned out being electrical in nature. All companies were clear of the scene within an hour.
