Structure Fire - 5166 Perkins Street

 

03/12/09- Kearsarge and the first alarm preplan were dispatched for to a structure fire early this morning. Initial information showed smoke and fire showing with possible entrapment in the residence. Millcreek Police arrived on location confirmed a working structure fire with negative entrapment. Chief 440 (Nichols) arrived on location of the dwelling and assumed command. Kearsarge Fire Company rapidly responded to the box alarm with an engine, the ladder, and the utility vehicle. West Ridge, Perry Highway, and Kuhl Hose fire companies assisted with one engine each along with MP28 with medical command. The fire was knocked down and under control rapidly and all companies cleared the scene within 2 hours. At 04:05 an alarm was transmitted for a working structure fire at the same address, Chief 441 (Burhenn) arrived on location confirming a fully involved structure fire. All operations during the rekindle were defensive. The home was said to be a total loss and is under investigation. All companies cleared the scene within 4 hours of the second dispatch.
