Structure Fire - 4999 Pittsburgh Ave.

 

01/28/10 - At 18:00 hours a first alarm was transmitted for a commercial structure fire at 4999 Pittsburgh Avenue. MPS arrived first and reported smoke conditions. Engine 442 arrived, stretched a 4" supply line and Captain 453 (Parker) assumed command of the fire. 1 preconnect 1.75" hand line was stretched to the second floor. Deputy Chief 441 (Burhenn) arrived and assumed command. WRFD Tower 479 arrived and began horizontal ventilation of the windows on the 'A' and 'D' sides of the fire building. Utilities were secured and a primary search was conducted with negative results. Engine 443 arrived as the second due engine and stretched a second 1.75" preconnect as a backup line and at the same time a thrid 1.75" preconnect line was stretched. PHHC had interior crews working on overhaul. KHC was on scene at RIT. Crews operated for just under 3 hours. Companies on scene are as follows: Kearsarge, West Ridge, West Lake, Perry Hi-Way, Kuhl Hose, EFD rehab, and Millcreek Paramedics.
