BECOMING A KEARSARGE FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBER

Thank you for your interest in the Kearsarge Fire Department! We are an unpaid professional fire department in need of your help! We are recruiting Fire Fighters, Fire Police, Support Personnel, Administrative Personnel, Fund-raising Personnel, Building Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, Financial Personnel… and the list goes on and on! We are interested in individuals with or without experience. All we require is a willingness to learn and an interest to serve your community.  If you have been wondering how to get involved, please contact our membership committee by emailing HERE ; or if you are ready to be a part of something special, stop by the station on any Monday night between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Absolutely no obligation is required to explore the opportunities here at Kearsarge Fire Department.   We appreciate any and all help we can get!  Thanks for your interest! Once you submit your application, a representative from our department will contact you to schedule an informal interview. After a successful interview and PA State Police Criminal Background Check, your application will be brought to the next available department meeting for consideration.

 Following your application approved, you will be placed on a probationary status until you meet the following training requirements:

Completion of Pennsylvania State Essentials of Firefighting (160 hour class)
Completion of a Pennsylvania Department of Health First Responder or EMT Class (60 hr or 120 hr class)
Pennsylvania Hazardous Materials "Operations Level" Class

Once you have completed these requirements, you will be brought up for vote by the general membership to be removed from probationary status and placed on active status.
