LAKE CITY FUNERAL DETAIL

06/23/07 - Kearsarge Tower 449 was requested for a funeral detail in Lake City. World War II veteran and Lake City Fireman Richard Sargent was returned home after being missing for 57 years. Mr. Sargent was part of a B-24 bomber group that went missing over New Guinea in April 1944. His remains were returned to Lake City and were buried with his family. Tower 449 and WRFD Tower 10 created an American Flag Arch over the roadway while Sgt. Sargent returned home. Numerous motorcycles and other vehicles were part of this procession from the Cleveland airport to Lake City.
