Firefighter Apparatus and Emergency Equipment in Erie, PA

The Kearsarge Fire Department in Erie, PA has a variety of firefighter apparatus and emergency equipment. We staff a regional rapid intervention team/firefighter assist and a search team (RIT/FAST). This trained and dedicated group of volunteer firefighters responds to emergency scenes in case firefighters become trapped and need to be rescued.

Our current fleet of firefighting, rescue and EMS apparatus includes:

  • Engine 442 – 1992 Kovatch Mobile Equipment (KME) 1,500 gallon-per-minute pumper
  • Tower 449 – 1995 KME 102-foot tower ladder truck with a 2,000 gallon-per-minute pump. This truck was refurbished in 2012
  • Rescue 444 – 2009 Precision Rescue Pumper with a 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump, Holmatro Rescue tools and a 40 gallon Class B foam cell
  • Utility 448 – 2008 Chevy Suburban Crew Cab Utility Truck
  • Utility 447 – 2014 Ford Police Interceptor SUV

We are also proud part-owners of the Millcreek Paramedic Service, who provides advanced life support emergency medical services for the fire district. Our volunteer firefighters respond to over 1,000 emergency calls a year including medical assists, motor vehicle accidents, automatic alarms, fires, and other miscellaneous emergencies throughout Millcreek Township and Erie, PA.
